Joint Systems
This category covers joint systems, which are specific constructions consisting of adjacent fire-resistance-rated wall and/or floor assemblies and the materials designed to prevent the spread of fire through a linear opening between the wall and/or floor assemblies.
For US applications, systems are investigated in accordance with ANSI/UL 2079, "Tests for Fire Resistance of Building Joint Systems." For Canadian applications, systems are investigated in accordance with CAN/ULC-S115, "Standard Method of Fire Tests of Firestop Systems."
