USE
This category covers single-phase gas-filled or oil-immersed instrument transformers with a nominal system voltage of 115 kV and above, with a capacitive insulation system for line to ground connection. They may be used for indoor or outdoor applications.
Instrument transformers may be provided with Class I or Class II internal arc protection.

Instrument transformers are marked with:
- Manufacturer's name or trademark
- Serial number or unique identifier
- Rated primary and secondary current
- Nominal system voltage (NSV) or maximum system voltage (MSV)
- Basic impulse level (BIL)
- Rated frequency
- Continuous thermal current rating factor (RF)
- Accuracy rating (if required):
- Metering accuracy class as specified standard burdens; as a minimum, the burdens at which the transformer is rated 0.3 accuracy class
- Relaying accuracy rating on transformers intended primarily for relaying applications
