GENERAL

This category covers national industrial security monitoring stations, which are facilities that have personnel on duty specifically trained to handle signals received from systems covered under National Industrial Security Systems (CRZH).

The listing of a company in this category indicates that the company has demonstrated either the capability of satisfying the requirements for building, equipment, staffing, signal processing, signal retransmission, and record keeping as required in UL 2050, "National Industrial Security Systems," or the staffing, signal processing, signal retransmission, and record keeping as required in UL 2050 and the building and equipment as required in UL 827, "Central-Station Alarm Services."

Periodic inspections are conducted by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) at the national industrial security monitoring station locations covered under this category to verify continued compliance with the requirements.

UL maintains an Online Certifications Directory that allows up-to-date verification of companies eligible to provide monitoring of national industrial security systems as of the date of the inquiry.

UL makes no representations or warranties, expressed or implied, that monitoring of an alarm system will prevent any loss. UL may, at times, conduct inspections of the national industrial security monitoring station company. UL does not assume or undertake to discharge any liability of the national industrial security monitoring station company or any other party. UL is not an insurer and assumes no liability that may result directly or indirectly from failure to process alarm or other signals, inspection of the equipment, failure of the equipment, nonconformity with requirements, failure to discover nonconformity with requirements, or withdrawal of the national industrial security monitoring station company from UL's Online Certifications Directory.

REQUIREMENTS

The basic standard used to investigate products in this category is UL 2050, "National Industrial Security Systems," in addition to UL 827, "Central-Station Alarm Services," where applicable.

CERTIFICATE SERVICE

Companies that comply with these requirements receive a Certificate of Compliance from UL. Each Certificate of Compliance expires on March 31st of each calendar year and is replaced by a subsequent Certificate of Compliance.

The companies covered under this category are not directly involved in the issuance of alarm system Certificates, but can be named as the monitoring location of an installation for which these Certificates have been issued. Those companies authorized to issue National Industrial Security Alarm System Certificates are separately covered under National Industrial Security Systems (CRZH).
