Welcome to the UL Online Certifications Directory. You may use the UL Online Certifications Directory to:

Search The UL Online Certification Directory Using:

To begin, navigate to http://www.ul.com/.
To access the UL Online Certifications Directory, click "Certifications" located in the red bar at the bottom of the page.
Search By Company Name/Location and/or Keywords:
To begin a search for information regarding a specific company, enter the company name/location and/or other available information including keywords in the search fields provided, and then click "Search".
Search results often yield multiple "hits", which are listed in alphabetical order by Company Name.
To reduce the number of "hits", choose "Refine Your Search".
To refine, enter additional information in the "Keyword" field and click "Search".
Refining using multiple pieces of information is possible by using "and", "or", and "not" statements, and wildcards as demonstrated through the "Search Tips" link.
Once the number of "hits" has been reduced, click on the appropriate link in the "Link to File" column to view the company's current Certification(s) or refine further by again clicking "Refine Your Search".
The electronic Certifications contain the same, if not more, UL Certification information than is available in the printed directory.
To view the description/specifications for the category, click the "See General Information for …" link located above the company name.
Note: wording may read "Guide Information for …" in place of Guide Information.
UL Guide Information outlines the scope and limitations of a product category, the Standard for Safety used to evaluate products, and the applicable UL Mark by which the products can be identified in the field. View the next level of Guide Information by again clicking the "See General Information for …" link.
Search by Standard Number:
To search by Standard Number, select the "Standard Number" search from the Specific Searches pulldown on the main page.
This option searches all UL Guide Information for the requested standard number (UL and other). Your results, a list of product categories whose products were evaluated to or whose Guide Information references the standard.
To begin search, enter the exact standard (ASTM E84, UL 300, ANSI/NSF 61, etc.) number in the available "Standard Number" field and click "Search".
This search results in the UL Guide Information for one or more categories. Choose the correct category by clicking the "GuideInfo" link in the "Link to File" column.
Note: If your search does not result in any hits, try it again using only the number (i.e. E84, 300, 61, etc.).
Search By UL File Number:
A "File Number" is an alphanumeric designation (e.g. E12346, MH3456, R4600, etc.) assigned by UL and associated with a specified company and product category.
To search by "File Number", first use the pulldown menu on the main page.
Next, enter the file number and click "Search".
As in the previous example, click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
Search by UL Category Code:
"Category Code" allows for four search options. They are 1) UL Category Code (CCN), 2) Keyword search within Guide Information only, 3) Keyword Search within Product Category Title only, and 4) Category Code Hierarchy view.
A UL Category Code is an alphanumeric designation (GBTV, QMFZ2) assigned by UL and associated with a specific product category. To search by UL Category Code, use the pulldown menu on the main page.
To search for keywords in either the Guide Information or product category title, enter the information in the respective "Keyword search within Guide Information Only" or "Keyword search within Product Category Title only" field and click "Search". Note: This "Keyword" search function searches only the UL Guide Information. To search for keyword(s) throughout the entire database, use the Keyword option decribed in full below.
To search for the UL Guide Information for a specific CCN, enter the CCN in the available "Category Code" field, click the "Display Guide Information Only" box and then click "Search". Note: Omitting the "Display Guide Information Only" box will result in the UL Guide Information AND all current Certifications for a given CCN.
This search results in the UL Guide Information for one or more categories. Choose the correct category by clicking the "GuideInfo" link in the "Link to File" column.
To view all current UL Certifications for a CCN from within the Guide Information, click "View Listings".
Click the appropriate link in the "Link To File" to view the individual UL Certifications.
Search for Appliance Wiring Material (AWM):
The "Appliance Wiring Material (AWM)" search option in the main page Specific Searches pulldown now links directly to the UL iQ database. Search options are available there to locate appropriate Wiring products.
Search By Authorized Label Supplier:
To search by Authorized Label Supplier, select the "Authorized Label Supplier" search from the Specific Searches pulldown on the main page.
This option searches for authorized label suppliers or label types that have been found to comply with UL's requirements for printing UL's registered certification marks.
Choose the Label Type from the pulldown menu and click "Search".
Click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
Or, type a company name in the Company Name field to determine if the company is an Authorized Label Supplier and click "Search".
If results appear, click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
"Authorized Label Suppliers" may also be searched using UL File Number, City, State, Zip Code, Country, or Keyword.
Search By Component Suppliers:
To search by Component Suppliers, select the "Component Suppliers" search from the Specific Searches pulldown on the main page.
This option limits the database search to frequently-searched Recognized Component categories.
Choose the component category title from the pulldown and click "Search".
Click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
"Component Suppliers" may also be searched using Product type (name of product), Product identifier (type, model catalog designation), Supplier name, City, State, Zip Code, Country, or Keyword.
Search By Components for Transportation Applications:
To search by Components for Transportation Applications, select the "Components for Transportation Applications" search from the Specific Searches pulldown on the main page.
This option limits the database search to Recognized Components that are frequently used in automobiles, electric vehicles, industrial trucks, and other transportation applications.
Choose the component category title from the pulldown and click "Search".
Click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
"Components for Transportation Applications" may also be searched using Product type (name of product), Product identifier (type, model catalog designation), Supplier name, City, State, Zip Code, Country, or Keyword.
Search Fire Resistance:
To search for Fire-resistance-rated Systems and Products, select the appropriate item from the pulldown menu on the main page.
The main "Fire-resistance-rated Systems and Products" page has two sections which can be utilized to locate fire-resistance related information:
1. Search for a Design - Allows direct access to designs, systems or assemblies if the Design, System, or Assembly Number is known.
2. Fire-resistance-rated Systems and Products - Provides access to technical information and searches for specific topics relating to fire-resistive constructions and products.
A search for fire-resistive designs, systems, and assemblies can be performed two ways, depending on the information available. If the exact UL Design, System, or Assembly Number is known, enter it in the search field and click "Search" (e.g.: U512).
Note: Although the left-hand section is titled "Search for a Design", it can also be used to search for a Through-penetration Firestop System, a Joint System, a Perimeter Fire-containment System, a Grease Duct Assembly, a design covering Structural Steel Used in Petrochemical Facilities, an Electrical Circuit Protective System, a Thermal Barrier System, or a Ventilation Duct Assembly.
Click the appropriate link in the "Link to File" column to open the design.
The result is a complete UL Design, including illustration and specifications.
Note: Images can be downloaded for use in architectural drawings.
But, what if the design, system, or assembly number is not known? Click on one of the topics under the heading "Fire-resistance-rated Systems and Products" to access detailed information on that topic, including search techniques. For example, to search for a design covering a beam, a column, a floor-ceiling, a roof-ceiling, or a wall assembly, click on "Fire-resistance Ratings".
The resulting Fire-resistance Ratings page has three sections:
1 - General introduction to fire-resistance ratings
2 - Search for Designs
3 - Pulldown menu - allows searching the Guide information for Fire-resistance Ratings - ANSI/UL 263 by topic.
A search for fire-resistive Design Number can be performed three ways, depending on the information available. If the exact UL Design Number is known, enter it in the search field and click "Search".
If the desired design series is known (e.g. L500 series), follow the search hint shown beneath the search field.
If further assistance is needed in identifying the Design Number, click on the "Numbering information for Fire-resistance Designs" link to view the interactive Fire Resistive Design matrix.
Scroll down the left-hand column of the matrix to the type of construction needed; then, scroll across to view the types of protection. Click the appropriate link. For example, Floors & Ceilings assemblies with concrete and cellular steel floor (construction) + Exposed Grid System (protection) = all current designs between A200-A299.
The results of this search are four designs within the A200 series.
Click "Refine Your Search" to further narrow the results.
Refine the results using a specific manufacturer's name, a keyword or phrase, such as a fixture, batts and blankets, and/or an hourly rating, and click "Search".
Note: Remember, "Keyword" searches benefit from using "and", "or", and "not" operators, and the * wildcard.
The result is all designs meeting those parameters.
Click the appropriate link in the "Link to File" column to open that design.
The result is a complete UL Design, including illustration and specifications.

A similar procedure can be used to obtain Through-penetration Firestop Systems, Joint Systems, Perimeter Fire-containment Systems, Grease Duct Assemblies, designs covering Structural Steel Used in Petrochemical Facilities, Electrical Circuit Protective Systems, Thermal Barrier Systems, or Ventilation Duct Assemblies.
Certifications of Dampers and Fire Door and Window Assemblies can also be accessed through the main "Fire-resistance-rated Systems and Products" page.
To obtain certifications on dampers, click on "Dampers".
A search for a damper can be performed in different ways, depending on the information available. If the Company Name or the UL File Number is available, enter it in the appropriate search field and click "Search". The search can also be performed by type of damper, using the Product Search pulldown menu. Select a category and click "Search". A Keyword search will search for a particular word or phrase within the dampers categories.
For example, to begin a search for a smoke damper, use the category pulldown menu to identify "Smoke Dampers" and click "Search".
Click "Refine Your Search" to further narrow the results.
Refine the results using a specific manufacturer's name, a keyword or phrase, or a location and click "Search".
The result is all of the certifications that meet the search parameters. Click the appropriate link in the "Link to File" column to view a specific certification.
Search for Food Safety Equipment:
To search for Food Safety Equipment, select the "Food Safety Equipment" search from the Specific Searches pulldown on the main page.
This option searches by ANSI/NSF standard number or Food Safety Equipment category.
Enter the ANSI/NSF Standard number (do not include the ANSI/NSF prefix).
Click the Guide Info link in the "Link to File" column.
Or, choose the ANSI/NSF Standard number and category title from the Food Safety Equipment category pulldown menu and click "Search".
Click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
"Food Safety Equipment" may also be searched using UL File Number, Company Name, or Keyword.
Search for Registered Firms:
To search for Registered firms, select the "Registered Firms" search from the Specific Searches pulldown on the main page.
This option searches by the Registered Firm standards and categories.
Choose the Registered Firm standard from the Registered Firm category pulldown menu, enter other appropriate search information, and click "Search".
Click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
"Registered Firms" may also be searched using Company Name, Standard Industry Code (SIC) number, Standard Industry Code (SIC) category, Accreditation or Keyword.
Search by Roof Deck Constructions:
Follow the same instructions as the Fire-resistance-rated Systems and Products section.
Search for Sprinkler Identification Number (SIN):
To search by Sprinkler Identification Number, select the "Sprinkler Identification Number (SIN)" search from the Specific Searches pulldown on the main page.
This option searches by Sprinkler category or the Sprinkler Identification Number.
Choose the Sprinkler category title from the Sprinkler category pulldown menu and click "Search".
Click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
Or, enter the alphanumeric Sprinkler Identification Number (SIN) in the Sprinkler Identification Number (SIN) field and click "Search".
Click the appropriate File Number link in the "Link to File" column.
"Sprinkler Identification Numbers" may also be searched using UL File Number, Company Name, or Keyword.
Hints and Tips:
Sometimes you would like to review just the listings with recent changes. In that case, click on "Refine Your Search" from the Search Results page, and enter a date in the Keyword field. For example, enter 2009-07-* to search for listings updated in July 2009.
If your search results yield no hits the screen will read "Sorry, No Match Found". Use your browser's "Back" button to return to the search page. Verify the input information, correct as necessary and click "Search". If the input information was correct, try using alternate wording (e.g., sheetrock vs. wallboard).
